Being an esthetician for 15 years, I've had the pleasure of working in some of California's most beautiful and exclusive spas and resorts. Between Los Angeles, Calistoga, and Mendocino, I was exposed to many different techniques and products that ranged from 100% natural to dermatologist grade products and procedures. I trusted that we live in a country that regulated products and ingredients and always had our best interests in mind. That simply is not the case.
Having done much of my own research, I was shocked at what I found. There is very minimal regulation in the entirity of the personal care industry. The last time the federal government passed a law regulating cosmetics was in 1938!
Companies are allowed to use known toxins- ingredients that have been linked to cancer, reproductive issues, and hormone disruption- without disclosing these ingredients to consumers.
Today, there isn't one person who is not affected by someone getting sick with the "C" word or experienced it first hand. This is why I have decided to band together and join forces with companies that are fighting to change these regulations across the board!
